LOOKING FOR A PLACE TO FALL FISH? TRY FLYING POND IN VIENNA

According to Maine.gov, Flying Pond in Vienna and Mount Vernon supports an exceptional fishery for both Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass, in part due to its very high smelt population. The abundance of forage provides an excellent food source for predatory fish and makes the pond an interesting destination for anglers targeting larger Bass. Flying Pond also offers considerable depth, with a mean depth of approximately 27 feet and a maximum depth of 80 feet. This variety in depth provides habitat for several other species, including Brown Trout, Landlocked Atlantic Salmon, and Brook Trout. The combination of shallow and deep-water habitat allows anglers to target different species and experiment with a variety of fishing techniques throughout the year.
