LOOK UP! SKY HAPPENINGS

What to look for: October 30 – November 6

  • 🌠 Taurid Meteor Shower: The Southern Taurids are active, with increased fireball activity expected around November 4–5. These meteors are known for occasionally producing unusually bright streaks across the sky.

  • 🪐 Saturn: Look for a bright, steady point of light in the southern sky during the evening. Binoculars won't show its rings clearly, but a telescope can.

  • ✨ Pleiades (Seven Sisters): This beautiful cluster of stars rises in the eastern sky during fall evenings. It's especially impressive through binoculars.

  • 🌌 Andromeda Galaxy: Autumn is an excellent time to look for our neighboring galaxy. Under dark skies, it can appear as a faint, fuzzy patch without a telescope.
