Spring clean up, but thinking metal..
Okay guys so we are heading into spring and as you know this is the time for clean ups. But spring cleaning doesn’t just have to mean straightening those mailboxes, picking up twigs and cleaning out our closets. It can also mean outside organization, securing items, and decorating the yard for our season of sunshine. Since 2016, C&G Metal is a locally family owned and operated manufacturing and metalworking shop that creates high quality all things metal; including heat pump stands, brackets, bumpers, rain caps and custom metal designs or decor. They offer services in welding, CNC plasma cutting, sandblasting, powered coating, tire rim refinishing & metal furniture restoration.
You can finally get those pumps secured, protect the chimneys from the brutal weather, and spruce up the yard and inside the house with some pretty cool metal art. Sounds like we don’t have to buy new, just restore what we have. They also create outdoor metal furniture and pet bowls. You can check them out here: https://www.cgmetalworks.com/

SEED & PLANT
Tis the season to begin thinking sprouts…
March 20th
The Waterville Seed Library provides community members with resources to grow healthy, sustainable food at no cost. The seed library helps to reclaim seeds as a public resource and fosters a culture where local growing knowledge is easily shared. In concert with the Waterville Public Library’s purpose and mission, we celebrate human diversity in our community and strive to be inclusive and accessible to all.
March 29th 12-4
Gardeners and orchardists are invited to bring their seeds, scionwood and cuttings to share. If you don’t have any, come anyway! There is always plenty of seeds and scion to go around.
We also regularly have over 150+ types of scionwood to share, including scionwood sourced from MOFGA’s orchards. We will also have limited quantities of rootstock for sale. Custom grafting is available by donation to the Maine Heritage Orchard.

LOOK UP! SKY EVENTS THIS WEEK
The Northern Lights may be possible on March 13-14th and the best time to see them is between 10PM-2AM. Let’s get outside, if we can stay awake, to see this spectacular sight.
The New Moon on March 18th will make it so the skies are incredibly dark and the stars will be putting on their best show. It’ll be a great night to see The Milky Way Band and constellations like Orion and Leo. For some of us gardeners, this traditionally marks a good time to start planting those leafy greens and above-ground crops.
March 20th marks the first official day of spring. This night we may spy a crescent moon near Venus.
